Ondrieu-sur-Mer is the only address on this coast with a supermarket, a pharmacy and a school inside the same 10 minutes on foot. Fifteen boats still fish out of the harbour and land at the quay before seven. Market on the quay Tuesday and Saturday, 7:00 to 13:00. The old town is four streets deep, pastel, shuttered, and built on a slope. Everything above the church is stairs. Parking is the one real problem: residents’ permits, and the quay fills by nine in August.

Walkability
Flat along the quay, steep behind it. The port to the top of the old town is 118 steps in three flights. From the villas above town it is 11 minutes down and 16 back up.
Schools
The village school takes children to 11, behind the market square, 6 minutes from the quay. The collège is by the sports ground. The lycée is on the coast road, 20 minutes on the school bus, which leaves at 07:20.
Eating in February
Eleven restaurants on the quay in August, four in February. The two that never close are the fish place at the harbour mouth and the bar by the church, which does one plate a day and stops at 14:00.
Getting out of town
25 minutes to the airport on the coast road, 50 in July when the beach traffic starts at the third roundabout. The inland route is 9 km longer and faster after 08:00. There is no train.
